Ladies that do... - Tracy and Elaine get the needle

Pins and Needles

Tracy & Elaine receive an invitation to experience for free, available right here in Leicestershire, the amazing age defying secret that has viewers of "Ten Years Younger" in a real frenzy.

Tracy and Elaine feel it would be rude not to accept! And must investigate, so without any delay we arrange an appointment. The treatment we are to receive is a combination of oriental massage and acupuncture.

We make our mini adventure to Stoneygate Leicester to meet therapist 'Claudia Walker'. In the treatment room there is the calming effect of soft music and the aroma of a scented candle. Claudia looks into our eyes and mouth and quizzes us in turn about our general health. With neither of us having experienced acupuncture in the past, we have one important question, "does it hurt?" with the answer being "no" rather skeptical and not fully convinced we proceed with the treatment.

Once on the couch, the needles come out! Surprisingly they look quite large but are really quite fine and cause no pain what so ever. Time to relax and begin to enjoy some 'me time!'

Around 25 needles are tapped into feet, legs, hands and face. With vanity being the main reason we are here, the needles are positioned in the face to iron out a few laughter lines of which Tracy and Elaine have plenty! And most importantly to eliminate frown lines and fine wrinkles.

Claudia randomly picks up on a sinus problem. Relief is instant with a headache that has been around for months beginning to clear, how impressed are we! The needles are left in for about 20 minutes.

Claudia treats a variety of people and ailments, including a 77 year old with aching joints.

Claudia describes the final part of our treatment as 'a physical application of human kindness', this being the Thai massage. Focusing mostly on the head, face and neck area, what a lovely end to a very relaxing hour.

The lines on our faces are definitely smoother and we are left feeling really quite upbeat.

Having not spent any money on extra creams or suchlike, and being advised to eat healthily, and get plenty of fresh air, off we go for a decaf coffee in 'Wistow cafe bistro' at 'Wistow rural centre' where we also pick up some veggies for tea.

60 minutes of Facial Revitalisation Acupuncture and Massage costs just £40. Mention WOW and your first treatment will be half price.
